Dr. Karam Abdelmasih, MD
Dr. A. graduated from medical school at the Cairo University in 1998. He practiced family medicine for 4 years in rural Egypt and then returned to his medical studies to complete a residency in anesthesiology in 2008.
Dr. A is known as a very gentle and reassuring physician. In addition to his abilities as a primary care physician, Dr. A is a gifted surgeon. He performs in-office procedures such as skin procedures, toenail removals, and circumcisions. He is able to do in-office procedures both for Free Market Physician and for other community patients. He is happiest on the days when he has procedures!

When he and his family left Egypt, he left his practice of anesthesiology and returned to the practice of primary care in clinics and nursing homes. He joined the Free Market Physician staff as an Assistant Physician in 2023.
Dr. A is married, has one child at home, and enjoys reading and music in his spare time.

What is direct primary care?
Direct Primary Care is a model of healthcare delivery. They key is that it is direct. Physicians have a direct relationship with their patients. Patients can contact their physician as needed by phone, text and email. There is also a direct payment relationship. Instead of using a third party like an insurance company, patients pay the physician directly. You work for whoever pays you. We don’t want to work for insurance companies. We work for you, our patients.
What services are offered at free market physician?
Free Market Physician is a family practice clinic where patients are able to get all of their primary medical care for a low monthly fee. This includes sick visits, well visits, and care for chronic conditions. Patients are able to get after-hours consultations for urgent issues by phone, text, and email. Some procedures are also available. Members are also able to get labs and medications at cost.
